Caesar Cut

What it is

Flat to the head with all the length brought forward. Because it adds no height and covers the brow, it is the quiet answer for a long face or a high hairline, and it hides a receding front better than almost anything else this short.

Who it suits

• Rectangle

  A square jaw on a longer face. Height on top works against you here; width, fringe and side volume bring the proportions back.

• Oval

  Slightly longer than wide, with the cheekbones as the widest point and a gently rounded jaw. The most forgiving shape — most cuts work, so the decision comes down to hair texture and how much effort you want to spend.

• Heart

  A wide forehead narrowing to a smaller chin. Fringe and side weight balance the top, while beard length adds the width the lower face lacks.

• Diamond

  Cheekbones dominate, with a narrower forehead and a narrow chin. Width at the brow and along the jaw evens the outline out.

Show this to your barber

Uniform 3-4 cm all over, sides #2 taper. Comb everything forward, cut the fringe horizontally just above the brow. Matte paste, no lift.
